Bala is an historical market town set on the edge of lake Llyn Tegid a favourite sailing venue, yet only a few miles from the breathtaking scenery of Snowdon. It is a tourist hot spot, but is as yet unspoiled an excellent position for exploring both the North and West coasts of Wales. It also boasts a modern leisure centre with a swimming pool.
Abermynach' is in the little village of Frongoch, which is served by one shop specialising in organic foods and local crafts and produce.
Other local facilities include the world championship canoeing course for those looking for a more active break, and several fishing banks for a more leisurely time
In easy access are: Llyn Celyn, the Brenig Dam, the Ffestiniog Slate Quarries & narrow guage railway, King Arthur's labyrinth and various woollen mills, castles (Harlech, Conway) and other places of historical interest. The well known tourist spot of Llangollen is 20 minutes away and the charming city of Chester can be reached in an hour.
The venue is suitable for both winter and summer breaks, but a car is essential to make the most of this outstanding area.
From the east come on the A5. Then A494 to Bala.
Turn right immediately for Ffestiniog and then turn right after 2.5 miles in Frongoch; we are first on the left.
